Holistic Dental Cleaning for your pet!

Vivian is back with Smiley Pett Holistic Pet Care!
Call us now to reserve your spot on Jan 27th!

Why is it important to keep your pet's teeth clean?

It is important that you understand your pet’s dental needs are much like our own. Your pet’s food has complex carbohydrates, sugars and dyes like every other food. This combined with your pet s’ high acidic saliva creates a perfect breeding ground for bacteria such as “plaque” and “tartar”. Plaque is a soft material the can easily be removed by brushing, but in a very short period, plaque can become hard, mineralized material, known as tartar or calculus, which can not be removed by regular brushing anymore.

Most dogs and cats will start showing signs of periodontal (gum) diseases by the age of 3 years old.

Without proper care, the buildup tartar and plaque on your pet’s teeth along the gum line is a very common condition, It can lead to gingivitis (which is the inflammation of the gum), eventually tooth loss an systemic illnesses which affects the kidneys, liver, lungs and heart if left untreated.

This is caused when the bacteria enters the blood stream through large blood vessels located near the pet’s gum and teeth and travels to the main organs.
